(S)SALVATION means to be rescued from something and for something — from sin

and its punishment, and for service. “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great

salvation?” (Hebrews 2:3).

(A) ALL people have both openly and by negligence insulted the Person of Almighty

God. This is called sin. “And the Lord saith, . . .they have forsaken my law which I set

before them, and have not obeyed my voice.” (Jeremiah 9:13). “All unrighteousness is sin”(I John 5:17).

(LLEFT to ourselves, the justice of God requires our everlasting damnation in the

terrors of hell. “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness.”(Romans 1:18)

 (V) VICTORY over sin was obtained by the Son of God coming to earth, perfectly

obeying all God’s laws; yet dying to pay for the sins of all who believe on Him.

His sacrifice satisfied the justice of God. “For He (God) made Him (Christ) to be sin forus, . . .that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” (II Corinthians 5:21).

(A)    ADMITTING that we have sinned against God is the first step to realizing our

desperate situation. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins”(I John 1:9). “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation.” (H Corinthians 7:10).

(T) TAKING the free gift of God as payment for that sin makes us legally “not

guilty” in God’s sight. “Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect?” (Romans 8:33).

(I)   IN gratitude for such love, we now do every good work we can — not to earn

salvation, which was freely given. “And that He died for all, that they which live should

not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them.”(II Corinthians 5:15).

(O) OUR duty is to accept the God-given plan. Trusting in our own goodness or of

working our way into heaven is disastrous. “For by grace are ye saved through faith;

and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8).

(N)    NOW is the time to make your decision. Tomorrow may never come. Refusal now

makes later acceptance harder. “Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of

salvation.” (H Corinthians 6:2).
